Hi! I have not been dx yet. I did have an ultrasound that showed multiple cysts. I went to ob/gyn Tuesday at my primpary drs rec (shouldn't I have gone to an endo?) and he was pretty dismissive. I have normal periods and I don't want to get pregnant (I have 2 kids already) so he told me they only treat if your periods are not normal or you are trying to get pregnant. Also, I am a vegetarian. When he heard that, he immediately decided that iron deficciency was my problem. He ordered some basic tests but did not order a glucose tolerance test, just a comprehensive metabolic panel, which does include glucose. So, if anyone knows the answers, here are my questions:
1. Do I have to carb load for this test? I have been eating low gi lately as it makes me feel a lot better.
2. Is glucose tolerance the same as testing for IR?
3. If not, how do you test for IR?

I'm confused and I'm tired of the run-around from drs who just try to put you on anti-deppresants and send you on your way. I know a lot of you have had similar experiences. Thank you for any help!!!!
