Post Going Natural

I am so lost of what kind of herbs, vitamins and minerals are best for treating pcos, right now I'm just taking chromium and calcium. What else should I be taking?

Do you have anovulatory cycles?

If so, Vitex and Wild Yam would be helpful.

I suggest taking a general vitamin supplement and Omega 3's (fish oils or flax seed if you are a vegitarian). My biggest recommendation, though, is to contact an herbalist and discuss your issues with them.

I agree DollFin! It is best to work with an expert. Guessing at what to take can lead to feeling worse...

That is absolutely right. For example, Mallory mentioned in her above post that Vitex would be helpful. I had annovulatory cycles and used Vitex. My cycles all but stopped for a good year or so. Vitex is slow to work and turned out to be slow to fix the damage from. It's not a cure all for every woman with PCOS, though it does help many.

How do you know if it's right for you? Like Claire said, an expert would be the way to go. A qualified herbalist, Chinese herbalist or naturopath would be the best place to start.
