Default going nuts!¬!!!!!!

Got a docs appt yesterday, hvae had this pain like period pain in my lower adbdomen, without the back pain tho. But the pain in my belly is ten times worse than normal period pain. So wento the docs, told him about it, also that I was feeling extra tired and passing water more than normal, told him it coulnd't have been period pain as I haven't got my period, and have never had the pain for more than 2 weeks before it came anyway!

He firstly wieghed me, I am 8stone 11!!!!!! shock as the last time I was weighed at docs I was 10stone 7!!!!This was only 6 months ago, and although I have been excersiging I haevnt't been eating differently or anything, I though this would be something to be concerened over, but no aparently!

My blood pressure was good also.

He then told me that he didn't know what it was causing the pain, even tho he didn't bothere to even examine my belly at all! He said I would prob be best speaking to the nurse and to make appt with her, which is gonna be three weeks away!!!! He then looked through his books for litrerally ten mins while I sat there - annoyed might I add- and after the ten mins handed me a perscription for amino citriate or something, cant remember then name exactly , I asked what it was for and what it will do, he said its to stop the pain, I asked aagin what it actually was and why he was given it to me when he had no idea what was wrong with me. heis reply was that it will stop the pain and to see the nurse, he seemed annoyed at me questioning his perscription, so I left in a fury,. made the appt, and went home and cried, I feel extreamly frustrated that I can't even get the doc to tell me what and why is given me a drug fro farless get them to understand that there is something not right with me.

I don't wanst o have somethign wrong with me, but my gut , and the bloody pain is telling me different! I just want whatever it is sorted out, but when you can't even get your 80 year old doctor to even speak to you then what am I supposed to do!!!!!

Help on this would be much appriciated!

sorry its so long.

This sounds a bit familiar...

First of all it sounds like you need to change GP's....your local pct can help you do this. He obviously doesn't have a clue what he's at. I can't believe he didn't even examine you.

Secondly, Yes, I would be concerned about your weight loss... I would keep an eye on it over the next month and just see what it's doing.

Regarding your pain... Could you by any chance be pregnant? Or could you have been pregnant recently? If you are or were there are a number of related things that could cause pain and you should try and see another doctor as soon as you can. Do you have any signs of infection...purely going to the loo more often is an indicator of a UTI or bladder infection? He should have taken a urine sample for analysis...

The more I write here the more I think you need to see another doctor as soon as you can. I did a search on Amino Citrate and I can't find anything relevant...

I'm in a similar situation... I had a miscarriage in mid october and have had constant pain since. Luckily I have a very good GP and he's helping me address it. I'm going back to him tomorrow so that he can refer me for a laparoscopy...he's already done a scan and lots of tests to try and get to the root of what's causing the pain.

I wish you the best of luck.

Paddy

I totally agree that you need to see another doctor, if there isn't another at your local practice, then as Paddy said your PCT (primary care trust) will be able to help you get a new one. You are also well within your rights to make a complaint to the practice manage about the service you recieved, you shouldn't be treated like that!

I'd give up chocolate, but I'm no quitter.

I am not disorganized, I have anti-systematic methodology disorder.
