Unhappy Going through m/c #5

We just told the grandparents on Mother's Day that they we were expecting and 3 days later -- started to bleed. Off to the doctor I go--I'm not stupid. I've been there, done that -- I know my body better then anybody else and pretty much knew that I wouldn't come out of my OB's office with good news and I didn't. I was "only" 6 weeks so didn't even make it to the magical 7 weeks when the other two ET losses occured.

"AF" in April wasn't really an AF so we aren't quite sure when we conceived because if my doctor is saying I was six weeks it doesn't make sense to when we were together -- but like that matters now.

I'm more pissed off then anything. What the hell is wrong with my body.
Maybe I'm going to be a mommy to my cats rather than to children.

I am so sorry It breaks my heart every time I read of someone m/c. Does your Dr have any idea as to why your are miscarrying? I lost my 3rd pregnancy just 4 weeks ago and they give me NO answers. It is so frustrating and depressing feeling like your own body is betraying you. I hope you get some answers, I conceived with SEVERAL Gonal-F injections w/ IUI cycles, but I m/c between 8-10 wks, so my Dr suggested we move on to IVF next time so they can watch the embryo develop from the very start and maybe they can get some answers as to what is going wrong, then only implant the healthy ones. Maybe you could bring that idea to your Dr if that is something you would consider. I wish you all the best and hope you get your baby to hold in your arms real soon, to go along with the ones you hold in your heart. XOXOXO

I'm so sorry to hear about your losses. Have you had repeat pregnancy loss testing? I somehow managed to carry my son to term and then had 3 losses when TTC #2. After seeing some bad doctors who "supposedly" (but really didn't) tested me for everything miscarriage related, I finally found a good one who did the right tests and found that I am compound heterozygous MTHFR and protein S deficient. Both of these are associated with blood clotting so I will need to be on heparin (blood thinner) next time I get pregnant. I also need to be on a lot of extra folic acid because with MTHFR the body is unable to properly process folic acid. So anyway, if you haven't already had all the testing, I recommend getting it. ((hugs)) I hope you are able to get some answers and never have to go through this again.

My husband and I just saw a genetics counselor and had a bunch of testing, MTHFR sounds familiar, I wonder if that was one of them. Both of our testing came back normal, so we are ok in that department, I also had a karyotype testing on my first baby and that was normal too. So we are at a loss. I am also on lots of Folic acid..4mg's a day plus 1mg in my prenatal vitamin, I take it for epilepsy. I am hoping the IVF gets us some answers....and a baby
