Default Goitre?

Does anyone here have a Goitre?

I have had one for a few years. I have had my levels checked a few times but the doctor has told me that they are within normal range. She didn't tell me what the levels were though.

She said that she wants to investigate soon.

What kind of tests do they do apart from the blood levels? I am a bit nervous about it. I have gone through too much lately. Losing my baby.

Oh, Tasha, I'm so sorry that you're going through such a difficult time. So very sorry for the your loss of your baby.

I don't have a goiter, so I can't help you there.

As far as tests other than the blood work, my endocrinologist checked certain reflexes, and when they were slower than usual he suspected my levothyroxine was low. Follow up bloodwork showed that my TSH was very high. Also just a general physical exam. Not too many other tests, but that could certainly be different if you have a goiter.

Also keep watch of your symptoms... make sure your doctor knows what you're experiencing. Often even when the bloodwork appears to be in the "normal" range, you can still have symptoms. Work with your doctor to get the appropriate treatment.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you.
