Hey there kiddo. I was once a senior Girl Scout too. Never quite got my gold award done because I was too busy trying to graduate from high school, so I applaud what you're trying to accomplish.
What are your interests in general? There has to be some way you could tie them to PCOS. For instance, I've always had an interest in communication, so if I were in your shoes, I'd be trying to do something to communicate about PCOS (i.e. raise awareness, etc.). If you can find a way to make the connection between your interests (and you'll have to determine what they are), I think your struggle is half-way accomplished.
Let me know what you decide. I'd be happy to help provide some advice if I can.
The Gold Award is the highest honor you can receive as a Girl Scout. Think of it like a Boy Scout's Eagle Award. There's another one, called the Silver Award (which I received) when you're a Cadette Girl Scout (normally, junior high-level). Gold Awards are normally received when you're in high school.
Secondly, yup, that's a beagle. My mom has two of 'em, and they're heck on wheels. That one is called Frick (the other is Frack...don't ask). I just thought the pic was priceless. He's got this sarcastic look on his face like "yes....can I help you?"
So, Kat, what can I do to get a PCOS Today banner up on SC?

Ahh, that's why I don't know about it...I didn't stay in long enough.

UPGRADING AGAIN? Just kidding. I know why you're doing this, and I'm gld you're doing so. Just know I'll keep bugging you about a banner!
Rafferty? What a perfect name! Yeah, those darn beagles are something else, aren't they? Keep life interesting, I can at least say that.

yeah im up for just about anything. i have like 2 or 3 years to do this so yeah. i was just brainstorming and a couple months ago we had a fire house vs. police department football game to help raise money for a park that they wanted to put in so i was thinkin something around those lines and then send the money that i earn to pcos research. as i said before im open for ideas so if you have any just let me know! im up for anything!

I think fundraising is a cool idea, but I'd be concerned about the learning curve. PCOS is something that not a LOT of people are aware of, and I think you'd have a ton of work ahead of you just to educate people to even get them involved.
How about coordinating a health fair where all sorts of people who represent health issues, health centers etc., can come together and present info to the community? You could also set up information/a booth/whatever about PCOS! Charge the organizations which exhibit and entry fee and then send THAT money for PCOS research?
