Hello! I'm new to this site! Lots of wonderful info here!!!
Several years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS (more like half-heartedly diagnosed by a doctor that pretty much dismissed me and my symptoms... so I never really knew for sure if that diagnosis was accurate... but I sure do have ALOT of the symptoms!!!)... I did nothing to follow up and I just let it go and haven't been to a doctor about this since... stupid I know!!
Anyway, does anyone have a good recommendation for an EXCELLENT doctor in the NYC area that specializes in PCOS and hormones? I'm looking for a doctor that isn't immediately trigger happy with the prescription pad (like my old dr was) and has a more "non-prescription" approach, if that even exists!! lol... I hate taking medications and that's part of the reason I was dissatisfied and never followed up with the previous doctor and just let this go so long... I'm preferably looking for a female doctor (just so embarassing to talk about these symptoms to a man who'll never understand lol) and one that accepts insurance...
Btw, I'm not TTC yet, so I don't know if I'll have fertility problems.... But, at this point I'm seeking a good doctor because of the other unsightly symptoms... hair loss, acne, facial hair, weight problems, etc.
