Question Good foods to eat while taking Met.

I've been looking around and I can't find a good thread about what foods everyone found helpful while taking Met. I did read several places where lettuce is a no no. Anybody have a clue why? I'm really bummed about that one I love salads! Thanks everyone.

I eat everything! And it seems that I sometimes have food-related issues but sometimes it just feels random. Lettuce I can see because when you have diarrhea you shouldn't have lettuce because all the "roughage" in foods with insoluble fiber give your gi tract a harder time when its already taxed. thats the only thing i can think of because with metformin you have semi-permanent diarrhea! Sorry I can't be of more help!

ginger ale is my best friend to help ease the extra gas or small stomach aches. Before going on MET i changed my diet completly and was able to loose 50 lbs. I don;t eat processed sugar, or white flour, and my fat intake is pretty low. I have never had any sever problems while on met, just a stomach ache here and there....
