Smile Good news everyone!!!!!!!

Great news.....After five years of having doctors tell me "Dont worry, what you are going through is perfectly normal" and "there is not enough information out there about this syndrome to know yet"....I FINALLY found a doctor here where I live who SPECIALIZES in PCOS. FINALLY!!! Someone who can tell me what is wrong with my body and help me find a way to make my life easier.

Her name is Dr. Jennifer Thie for anyone who lives in southern ohio. I found her on a PCOS website...I dont know why i didnt find her five years ago!

I have my first appointment with her tomorrow (3/21/03) and I am scared and nervous and anxious and excited all in one! Hopefully she can give me some great answers.

Wish me luck!
Love to all my cysters
Carrie

Cool Thanks doodlebug!

It went very well actually....

She did an ultrasound, which I had never had done. It was kinda cool to see my ovaries...and wow! are they ever "polycystic"!

My last doctor was a quack who didnt believe in PCOS very much, so this one was such a blessing. Apparently i had been on the wrong dosage of Glucophage (too little) and needed to be on Provera too, but I was not. This doctor put me on Provera adn a higher dosage of Glucophage, and GUESS WHAT!!!!???? AF came along after two weeks!!!! That is the first period i have ever had without being on BC pills! If you can believe that.

So we are making great strides. She is gonig to see how these meds work, then she may alter stuff if we need to. This makes me so happy to know that I have finally found someone who understands and has means of helping me. GOOD RIDDENS DR. QUACK! Maybe you should take a seminar and realize that if 1 in 5 women have this syndrome, maybe it IS REAL!!!!

Thanks for your support Doodlebug!

Love,
Carrie
