I have been on met. for years for DM II. I wasn't able to get pregnant. A month after I turned 38 I found myself pregnant for the first time. DS is now 9 weeks old To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Hi everyone.. I'm new here..
Really happy & relieved after reading such articles..
I'm turning 30 this year, diagnosed with PCOS in Dec.
TTC - 1 year
Dec/08- Jan/09 - started clomid - fail.
Feb/09 - clomid + gonal F + folliva + IUi = fail
Mar/09 - rest period (delay 12 days )
Apr/09 - period on 6th. Clomid + pregnyl + IUI
May/09 - delayed for 9 days (today). Looking for a good news to come.
Very good to see as a 32yr old! (Tempted to forward to the doctor I saw in my pre-ttc, single-girl 20s, whose annual warnings about waiting too long often left me crying!)
Wow! This is amazing. At 31 I tried 3 months of clomid with trigger shots and I didn't get pregnant. Now, at almost 36 I got pregnant without any drugs at all and without even trying. We had given up. So it was a total surprise. Although, it ended in miscarriage (right now as I type this I am going thru it).
When I went thru the fertility treatments the sonograms showed VERY PCOS type ovaries. I had tons of follicles. A few weeks ago I had a sonogram (cuz I was pregnant) and the tech said "your ovaries don't look like you have PCOS at all, they look normal". I didn't know what to say. So maybe it's my age working for me!!
I could have written that all myself! I am the same, except I had DS age 25 with the help of Tamoxifen.
After 10 years of TTC I got pregnant twice last year without any intervention (boy was that a shock!). Sadly the 1st was an mmc at 10 weeks, and the 2nd survived to about 6 weeks.
At the scan for the 2nd MC they asked me if I minded having an internal scan, I said I was used to it as I've had tons of follicle tracking. She then asked if I had PCOS. She told me that my ovaries look normal! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Here's hoping for a 2010 baby! Even if I will be one of the oldest mums at the school gates.....
Chrisy hugs to you. MC is an awful thing to go through.

That's wonderful news! It does help explain why it's been so much easier to get pregnant as I get older. We conceived our 1st ds after 4+ yrs of TTC when I was almost 30, our 2nd ds when I was 32.5, & our dd when I was 34.5. I did use injectables for all of them, but the last 2 babies only took 1 cycle on injectables. I'm 35 now & we'd love to have a 4th child someday, but we decided we didn't want to use injectables again due to the stress of it all & the fact that this will be my 3rd c-sec, so if we could conceive naturally w/o much intervention, that would be wonderful.
