I seriously doubt those study...Both my sister and I have PCOS, we had a late onset of the disease:
I always had a regular cycle since age 13 (my first period), no pain everything ok no pcos symptoms. At age 24 i started to have heavy and painflu period and facial hair.
My sister got pregnant naturallu at 27, and had no PCOS at the time( i mean she had it since it is genetic, but let's say it had not be revaled by then in anyway). she never have and still does not have pcos symptoms (but she has cysts) and she's been TTC for 4 years, now at 34 she has undergone 5 failes IVF, and her started to exeperience painful periods after the age of 30.
Now talk to me about pcos getting not as bad as you age.
It is very true with me. At the age of 30 I had all the common PCOS symptoms - one period every six months, acne, facial hair, insulin resistance, greasy skin, balding head. At the end of 34 I finally managed to conceive (after metformin and ovarian drilling). I am now 41 years of age and for the first time in my life I have regular ovulatory cycles. The only PCOS symptom I have is a little excess hair the others have disappeared over the years. Oh yes and I managed to conceive naturally twice. DD1 was born when I was 40 and DD2 at 41.
So as far as I am concerned it is very true but I didn't notice any improvements until 35+.

well i believe it! im 37 (almost 38) the last few years my periods have been much more regular, im ovulating ( i feel the cramps of ovulation) which i have never felt before, and after only 2 months of ttc i got my BFP this morning! im in shock as i expected it to take months and months and to need meds (from what ive read) so in my case it seems true that age lessens PCOS symptoms. i hope this will give hope to all you older ladies here ttc

yeah i have great eggs they just won't release on their own. my dr wss saying that there are dr's that think pcos started back in the day when there was not a lot of food..the women with pcos were the ones that could suvive. Their bodies held on too all calories and fats to survive when no food was around...the same thing with our ovaries..they hold on to all the good eggs and don't want to let go..lol

My mom was diagnosed with pcos a few decades ago and her symptoms got better in her 40s. She only takes spiro now and doesn't have any facial hair. Something to look forward to. Ill agree with that - I never had cramps or 'felt' ovulation as a teen or ever for that matter....Until now of course - the big 4-0!

GREAT article! Thanks for posting it! I am 25 and have been TTC since May 2005 with no such luck. We tried the metformin, clomid, IUI's and nothing worked. The doctor said that this was the best time to try being so young and that once I got older my chances of conceiving would be slim to none, and that after I turned 30 any fertility treatments would be a waste of money if they didnt work for us now, so I definitely feel better after reading this!
