Her name's Dr. Renu Chalasani (512-338-8181) at Austin Regional Clinic at Seton Northwest Hospital.
She helped me in my most difficult time of losing my well-waited pregnancy and went with my gut instincts. Although I had to eventually have a d&c, I found her to be extremely compassionate and caring and her nurses are just the most wonderful people.
I disagree with Shaylah. We had a horrible time with Dr. Chalasani. Mis-diagnosis, unsuccessful DNC and the questions we had were answered rudely by her. We had recommended friends to her too and they experienced the same. I'm sorry but I guess we might have just got her at a bad time.
Please call you hospital's L&D unit and ask who the staff uses for a doc. We can't tell you who is good, better or worse, BUT we can tell you who we see. We work at the bedside with them for 12 hrs a day!Typically, the nurses will stick with one group of doctors, because you are never guaranteed your doctor for delivery, you must like the whole group.Good bedside manner doesn't equal good practice!
