There are several of us on this site who have used Dr. Ellen Wood in Pembroke Pines (south Broward). She works for South Florida Institute of Reproductive Medicine. She's very knowledgeable about PCOS. She also sometimes works out of the Miami office.

Dr. Ellen wood's office does not accept "Aetna" insurance. i am really depressed. A doc is recommended and i cant go and consult her. Do you know some other doc who is good for TTC/PCOS and who accepts Aetna in west palm beach/boca raton area.

swathi--These are taken from different threads. I don't know anything about the doctors, but someone else recommended them.

"Dr's Litt and Kaufmann are excellent. They are in Jupiter. Right across the hall from them is an RE (Dr Manko).He is good too ( I have heard)

Yesterday I ran across a website www.care-life.com, Dr. Mick Abaé, I see they accept my insurance. Anyone heard anything about him?

Hi everyone.
My name is Stacey and I'm 33 and ttc#1 for 4 years. We have unexplained infertility. I stated acupuncture last month and am currently searching for one that my insurance covers.
Anyway, I came across the site while googling Dr. Mick Abae.
I've been seeing Dr. Ellen Wood and Leslie whom I both adore, but my credit cards don't. I just learned, about $10,000 later, that Dr. Abae is on my insurance plan.
I've heard wonderful things about him and even took care of IVF twins that he made possible. I'm an RN and the twins were premies. They are now 6 years old and perfectly healthy boys.

Welcome! I've heard good things about Abae. I think a friend of mine just started seeing him because Dr. Wood's office didn't take her insurance. Good luck!

I saw Dr. Abae last Wed. OMG- I love this man. He was caring and so enthusiastic about getting us pregnant. He reviewed all of my history and tests and did a transvaginal ultrasound and kept saying how perfect my body was to be pregnant. He made me feel so good.
They also have a clinical trial going on for IVF, which is what he said our next step was since I'm obviously having an implantation or fertilization problem. So the clinical trial pays for 1 fresh IVF cycle and 1 frozen cycle. The total fee would be $11,400 as opposed to $20,000. If I get pregnant from the fresh cycle, we get $3000 back for the frozen cycle. Not a bad deal at all! Plus, we would be able to keep the embies for next pregnancy for a small fee.
I'm more excited now than I've been in a long time. He's so confident! :woohoo1
I can't wait to be pregnant!!!!!

Hi Stacey,

So you saw Dr Mick Abae. I still want to see what my OB/GYN will say. I am still not diagnosed with PCOS. Nothing showed on pelvic ultrasound (everything is clear, one follicle, most probably functional, as per the doctor). I had some lab work done last week, seeing my OB/GYN tomorrow for results and advice. I'll see what she says. Good to know somebody in the neighborhood. I am right in downtown Hollywood. Maybe we can meet up for lunch some day?

Which acupuncturist are you seeing?
