Default Good recipe for asparagus?

I just bought some yummy asparagus today and want to cook it a different way. Tonight I put some in a pan with some olive oil and sauteed it, and at the end, after it was done, put some lemon juice and salt on it. It was pretty good.

Anyone else have any good recipes?

I like it grilled. A little olive oil, salt and pepper, and then onto the grill until it's just tender and the tips are a little charred.

I just saw one on a cooking show this weekend. The guy took pastry dough and rolled it out thin. Pricked the inner part with a fork and left about 1 inch around the outside alone so that it would rise. Then, he baked the dough. Pulled that out and sprinkled shredded cheese all over and put asparagus on top of that and back into the oven for about 15 minutes. Looked really yummy. I think he used greyere (sp?) cheese.

I like to grill it in the summer and roast in the winter. The leftovers are fantastic thrown into a salad in 1-2" pieces. The leftovers are good cooked into an Eggbeater omlet with some chopped tomato and a little low-fat mozzarella.

I roast it for about 7 minutes then sprinkle some balsamic vinegare on it - simple but tasty!

This is a caserole dish for winter(s)/ cold, rainy weather.....

1. Cook asparagus (not too much; though, don't want it soggy.
2. Microwave; or grill 4 skinless/ boneless chicken breasts
3. IN a bottom of a caserole dish; place the cooked chicken; add the asparagus / or brocoli / on top.
4. Prepare SAUCE to pour over top: 1 can of mushroom soup; 1/2 cup of mayo (light or reg) OR 1/2 cup of sour cream, couple pinches of dill, 2 tsp lemon for flavor, mix together.
5. Pour sauce over chicken and veggies / shred low fat cheddar or marble cheese on top
6. bake at 350 for about 30-35 mins.

really yummy!!!! my mom used to make this all the time; i think she got the recipe from Best of Bridge; called CLASSY CHICKEN; you can serve it over RICE if you want / whole grain rice is best!

merrik is right, use Preccuto (sp?) after you let cook in boiled water, wrap in one slice per spear, then throw on the grill. If you cant get to a grill, than pan fry with olive oil. I like to add some micned garlic to the pan.

I like to lightly toss mine with olive oil, Then I sprinkle it with garlic salt and parmesan cheese. I bake it in the oven (350) for about 15 minutes. Yummy! My DH even liked it!
