I just got back from my doctor.. Iv been trying to conceive since Nov '05...
This is the first time I've seen him, and without doing any checks he told me I have PCOS... I told him my symptoms.. (hair loss, black spots, irregular periods, facial hair, cant loose weight) He said its common, and gave me a prescription for Metformin. Then he took blood and did a pap... and that was it!. Said come back in two months, hopefully you'll be pregers by then (but I doubt it!)
Im in shock, I cant believe how fast he said I had PCOS and how fast he got me on Meds.. but I hope they work.. He said age is on my side.. we'll see I guess.. Anyways.. Hope somebody out there can shed some light on what to expect for the next two months... Thanks a bunch!
Welcome to sc!! I'm still finding out information about pcos and this forum is really great for that. I'm still waiting to see the doctor and for him to say it's pcos. Your doctor seemed to be really quick in telling you pcos. I wish mine were that quick.
You should go back to the doctors before the 2 months. See what the bloods and everything actually say. I hope it all goes well
Hi I was just Dx today as well my Dr took a diffrent approch. She said I have pcos and put me on provera (sp) to make me have a period and then when I do have a period I start bcp for 3 months. Then I need to go and get a hysterosalpingogram (to check my uterus and tubes) I also need to go get a blood sugar test from my primary care AND THEN finally I get to start Clomid in July.
Well I hope everything goes well for you if you need anything I am here for you I know how you feel its a hard blow when you find out but in some ways its a relief because now you have a name
GOOD LUCK!!!
