I am on 1000mgs of glucophage which is suppose to be glucophagexr. I thought the gluc xr was like a one dose,one pill deal. But for some reason I recieved my prescription and it says take two pills. If you are gluc xr isnt it suppose to be only one pill for whatever the dose you are taking? Did the pharmacy mess up? Please explain this to me. They gave me 60 500mgs pills. But on the pill bottle it says glucophage xr and on the script from the dr it states to fill gluc xr. What the heck is going on I wonder. Please someone shed on light on this for me. Thanks!!!!

As far as I know, XR only comes in 500mg pills. It IS only one dose a day, but it depends on what your dose is. I'm on 2000mg a day, so I take 4 pills at the same time. Since you're supposed to take 1000mg., yes, you would take 2 pills once a day (at the same time).

I'm on glucophage xr and i have to take 3 500mg pills a day. They only come in 500mg pills.
