Hi all,

Ugh, I'm am getting super depressed right now. I am surrounded by nothing but pregnant women...I know it just seems like it but it's really starting to take a toll on my emotional well being. I can't stop thinking about having a baby because it's all I want and it seems like it just won't happen....I'm happy for everyone I know that is pregnant and having a baby or already has kids but sometimes it's just so hard to deal with knowing that I may never have one.

I guess what I was going to ask was the doctor put me on a MAX of 1500mgs of Met... I don't know if I'm ovulating on my own or even if I would get af on my own because I'm taking BCP which will make no ovulation and make it hard to know if Met is working to get me af on my own. I have been on it for about a month. I go back to the doctor Nov 21 to see how much weight I will lose and also if I can go off BCP to see if Met is all I need to regulate my cycle.

I just need hope that some of you out there have gotten pregnant and carried to term on losing weight and exercise and taking Met...I can't afford IVF or adoption...and fertility treatments are sooooo expensive...If this doesn't work I'm afraid I'll never have a child.

If your answer is yes to the question above please let me know in detail what you did because I'm willing to try anything!!!

I went on met in jan and was pregnant by march. We are now in our 5th month and found out we are having a girl. I didn't have to do amy special diet I lost 30lbs in like 3 months and loo amazing prego. Never understood what made me gain the weight a few years back, but met is amazing and you will also get prego, just give it time and relax. Stressing makes it worse! Good luck!!!

I just wanted to give you a couple words and thoughts of encouragement. My husband and I TTC our second child for way over a year. I had a consult appointment with an infertility specialist about an hour away in May. He was very honest with me, said I needed to lose weight etc. etc. He verbally diagnosed me with PCOS because of my symptoms and my history. He prescribed me 2000mg of Met. I took it for a week in June and got pregnant. Unfortunately we lost the pregnancy at 5 weeks. 2 weeks later I got pregnant again! I am now in my 7th week and I feel great! This is a miracle and I was never ovulating and never got AF. I really thought that my husband and I would have to resort to other options that we can't afford to have another child!
I just want to let you know to just hang in there. I know how you feel when all you see are pregant women everywhere you walk and all you want is a baby for yourself. It will work out, keep having faith that you will be blessed.
Can I ask why you are taking BCP if you are TTC right now? Is it something that your doctor thinks you need to be on? Just a thought.

I'm on BCP because I haven't had a period for three or four months, so she gave me provera to start it and wanted me to get a couple of normal cycles down before I start trying again. She also wanted to get me started on Metformin and weight loss for a couple of months also before trying again...I just needed a little "yes I did conceive w/ metformin and weight loss" so I'm not freaking out on my down time! Thanks again for the helpful comments!!!

meganandmike... I also wanted to chime in... I was on 1500 met for a long time... and felt like MAYBE I was ovulating... but had only lost about 15 pounds in a year... then i bumped up to 2000 mg met... and got a BFP a month later. I don't know if it was the weight loss ( I still have ALOT to go) or the met or a combo... but it worked for us.

Thanks for the hope! I can't wait for my BFP...it will be the single greatest day of my life next to holding my baby in my arms. You have helped a lot....I go back in 3 months to see how much weight I've lost and also to see if she will bump me up (currently on 1500mg) who knows...I'm losing as much weight as I can by Dec '08 and then Jan '09 we are going to start trying again!
