I'd love to know how all the former ttc thin cysters are doing now we're pg or even mommies... and please post baby pictures too if you can! I'm on the final stretch now before dd/ds makes an appearance... everything's been going great but I can't believe how fast the last 9 months have gone!

Do not dispair. I just got a BFP the other day! We have been trying since March of last year but didn't start ovulating until March of this year with metformin 1000 mg. I think my claim to fame would be the following: 1) switch to letrazole instead of clomid (it's the name brand version of clomid but has less anti-estrogenic effects), 2) get a HSG test done (I swear that cleaned everything out...I conceived the same month I had it done and several other friends were the same), 3) used Preseed and eggwhites as lubricants, and last but not least, 4) threw away the thermometer once ovulation was confirmed with ultrasound and had lots of fun BDing! Good luck to you!

Me (30), DH (34)
TTC since 03/04
5'2", 107 lbs
Irregular cycles, no other symptoms
1000 mg metformin
Clomid 50 mg, no O, Clomid 100 mg with metformin, O
BFP! first round of serophene 100mg
What a great idea for a thread. So many of the former members of the thin cysters TTC thread are pregnant or are mommies already!
Sarah - I can't believe how close you are! Your ticker says four more days! I have been thinking of you since I knew you were due this month, and am glad you posted an update. Can't wait to hear all about your little one when he/she is here and see pics! I hope you have an easy labor and delivery.
slimcys - congrats on your BFP!
As for me, I passed the 20 week milestone last week. Can't believe my pregnancy is already half over! The first trimester was slow, but since then, time has flown! We found out at 17w2d that we're having a little boy and have decided to name him Timothy Arthur and call him "Timmy." Over the last couple of weeks he's really gotten active and seems to enjoy kicking me. Very fun! I've had a pretty easy pregnancy so far and hope the rest is as enjoyable.
I too look forward to hearing from our other "grads" soon!

My daughter Kelly Nichole was born 21 September last year. I don't know if I ever came back and told you. Once your babies are born, you will understand how things tend to pass you by, despite your best intentions. Kelly is a great kid and if I understood the technology, I would post a pic, but I am too deficient!! I was back into my pre-preg clothes within 6 weeks of having Kelly and am now even thinner than before she was conceived (which means I am under Dr supervision again). Breastfeeding was great, but very physically taxing - I still recommend it though.
It is so nice to see you ladies with precious bundles on board. Persistence does pay off!!
Great to hear from you Megan - I've been wondering where you were! I just had my baby and will try to post a pic at some point. Loving it so far...
Lissa, it sounds like your pg is going great! I had a relatively easy time too - enjoyed all of it. Wish I could say the same about labour & delivery...
I guess I am now officially a thin cyster again, except for my bbs... I woke up this morning looking like a porn star!

Sarah, I can very much relate to you feeling like a porn star!!! 3 days post-partum, "dolly parton" came to mind...
Hi all. I am with Megan on the post-partum-haze... time flies, and Luka is almost 8 months old. Amazing how little tiny people (like babies) can take up soooooo much time!
Being a mommy is wonderful! I love it. I must say I am spoiled with the smiliest, happiest and easiest baby I know (And I say that after a horrible teething-weekend). Luka is so good-natured, he makes everyone smile. It is so wonderful!
I just replied to the PCOS after pregancy thread, and this one fits quite nicely into that category too. I am still working on teh last few pounds. PCOS is back, smae symptoms as before and even more sensitive to carbs.
I am glad to have found this thread. I hope many of the TTTC'ers(as in thin trying to conceive) will join us :-)

Zebra, I can't believe you have an 8-month old!! Time certainly flies... I never realised how much time a baby takes up either. Whenever I'm on the computer I usually have DD in a sling and bounce up and down as I type, otherwise I'd never get online. Before I know it the day has completely gone... But my baby is pretty 'good' too - I was convinced I would have a child who screamed non-stop, because that's what I was like and I thought it would be fitting karma!

Sarah - belated congrats. I can't believe your daughter is three weeks old already! Her b-day is the day before my wedding annivesary, so I will always remember it.
Megan - so nice to hear from you! I'm glad all is going well with you and little Kelly. It's hard to believe she's 9+ months old already.
Zebra - sounds like you are really enjoying mommyhood. I'm glad that Luka is so well behaved.
Dreama - I definitely have felt more connected to my due date buddies as my pregnancy has progressed - and we hit the same milestones, etc.
I'm glad to hear you mommy's have done well losing weight. I'm definitely not a "thin cyster" any more and still have lots of time to go! My doc says my weight is fine, but I feel huge. I think it's because I'm small & short, and popped out pretty early. I don't know if my hips and thighs will ever be the same (but then, I've always been able to shop in the junior's/teen's department and maybe it's time to dress like a grown up!).
I exchanged notes with Six a while back (remember her?). She had a little boy in March.

I got PG w/ #2 (EDD is 11/21/05) during a cycle that I was convinced was NEVER going to work--we had just taken the injectables class since I kept having a poor lining on Clomid this time + visual disturbances, I cried at the IUI and was so sick with a cold that I wouldn't let DH anywhere near me that night, and was just waiting for the BFN so we could hurry up and move on! I am glad that I had a least a sorta surprise PG!!!!
Now that I am out of the incredible fatigue & moderate nausea of the 1st trimester, I am getting a little more active on the boards again (I hope). This is my 2nd pregnancy as a cyster on the boards, so I have started to be more forgiving to myself for the little spurts I tend to post in. I should be in bed right now, but I was rooting around in the the thin cysters forum (to try to figure out if I am still a moderator and try to find out more about this "karma" thing) when I found this thread. What a great idea!
sarahr - my baby sling has been my best friend since DS was born. though he has not officially outgrown it by weight, we had just stopped using it right before I got PG this time.
for those who had their babies, and finished BFing... how is your body doing these days? Back to "normal" (i.e. preprgancy state) or not?
I had AF about three days after teh last time I BF'ed. Big time, went through about a pad an hour for three days and had more "normal" or average flow the next 4 days. It has been about 2.5 months since then, and I am still waiting for AF to show up. Amazingly enough I PMS right on time.
I am having a blast right now watching Luka learn to crawl... he is sooooo close! If he is really focused on that toy he wants, he might just get it. :-)
How are those pregancies going girls? Let's hear the venting. :-)
How is the weight gain? (I gained a total of 42 lbs and still working on getting rid of all of it.)

Julie - I loved hearing your story about your "suprise" BFP. Maybe you're feelings that your cycle wouldn't work and lack of obsession is what let the magic happen. How are you holding up with the summer?
Zebra - well, since you asked . . . I'm definitely getting to that point in pregnancy where finding a comfortable sleeping position is a challenge. And once I finally do fall asleep, I wake up for the inevitable middle-of-the-night bathroom run. I think it's nature's way of preparing me for those interrupted nights once Timmy gets here. At my last doc visit I'd put on 19 pounds - which seems like a lot for so early to me. I avoid the scale at home. My doc isn't at all concerned about my weight gain, so I'm trying not to be. Actually, I put on some weight right away, but have been pretty normal since then. And while some is in my legs & hips, most is baby belly weight. It's so neat that Luka is getting so close to crawling! I'm sure he will be so proud of himself once he's doing it!
I have an u/s tomorrow to check on our little guy. He's doing all kind of acrobatics and I hope we get to see some of his maneuvers on screen. My one-hour GTT is on Wed. So nervous about failing. I always tested w/ low-normal blood sugar and low insulin, so I have myself convinced that this is how my PCOS-related IR tendencies will show up. Hopefully I'm just being paranoid.

I gained 26 lbs. when PG w/ DS, "extra" in the first trimester, "normal" in the second, and "less than average" in the third. This time I am gaining much slower, yet I have a bigger belly sooner!!!????!!! My biggest frustration is the stress incontinence...I have had two colds (one a month ago and getting over one now), both with coughing. This weekend it was so bad that even if I was literally walking out of the bathroom I would pee my pants if I coughed or sneezed and have to change my panties & shorts. I finally put one of DS's diapers in my undies so I could go to the store and buy some Poise liners!
I was back to pre-PG weight about 6 weeks postpartum, and back to shape by about 3 months. Some good friends in my chapter of MOMS club have told me that it might take longer after #2. I breastfed DS until he was 22 months old and it didn't affect my shape/weight other than my boobs became seriously deflated! Though they weren't much to begin with, they were DD+ naughty movie boobs in the first weeks when my milk came in and slowly deflated over time. Course being PG again has helped pump them up a bit!!! They are SO SORE this time around, like they NEVER EVER were in my first PG. Towels, nightshirts, DS accidentally hitting them -- OUCH!!!
We had our u/s a month ago, but this little babe was so active they couldn't get everything measured so we'll have another one around 28 weeks. So different from my u/s with DS, who was so still that I had to empty my bladder and poke him in order to get him to move so they could get everything. We've decided to wait till birthday to find out the gender, and the u/s tech was relieved because she said she really had no idea!
What did you name your baby or have you picked out for your expected arrival?
(if you are sharing--DH isn't too keen on sharing, but I have much looser lips this PG!!!)
Who knew/knows the gender and who opted for a birthday surprise?
My DS is Caleb Lennarth, he will be exactly 2 1/2 this weekend!!
If this baby is a girl, she will be Kaarina Laila
If it is a boy, we haven't decided...I like the name Josiah but DH hasn't offered his opinion yet. I want to use another family name for a middle name, but also haven't made a decision for that.
sarahr,
I tried sending you a PM, but it wouldn't allow me to send it. I was just wondering where you found your avatar? I tried entering "mother", "avatar", etc. into google, but didn't find anything! I certainly won't take your exact avatar, but I was hoping to find something "more me" than what is available from SC.
TIA
It's been a million years since I've been on this thread, but just to inspire everyone, Meredith Louise is 6 months old and I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by and how truly blessed I am. I wouldn't trade one minute of my ttc journey because it makes me that much more grateful for my daughter. I had a relatively easy pregnancy, a very very difficult labor and very long recovery and a pretty difficult baby but I would not trade any of it for the world. God knows what he's doing. Hopefully I'll be around on the boards more often now that I am a SAHM.
God Bless,
Dianne
