I recently moved to Greenville, SC and on a friend's recommendation I went to see Dr. Chyrel Stoner. She was absolutely wonderful!! I have been having problems with terrible cramps, PMS, passing clots, and anemia. She was very concerned and actually listened. I discussed with her my weight as well. I told her I feel helpless because I've been eating right (fruit, veggies, etc) and started taking the stairs at work and I GAINED 5 pounds in one week. She said "I believe you. I hear that all the time from women and I really believe you." FINALLY, a doctor who listens and wants to help. She has scheduled me for a sonogram next week to see what's going on and we'll discuss options from there. I tried another doctor here in the Upstate area first - Dr. Andrea Wininger - and was very disappointed. I told her about my problems and she said it's just because you're fat and need to lose weight. Then she tried to give me BCP and I'm 33 w/ hypertension and that makes for a bad combination. I had my concerns from the start about the visit with her. Her nurse nor her medical assistant even knew about PCOS. They acted like they had never heard of it before. SCARY that they work for a GYN and have never heard of PCOS before. So, bottom line, I highly recommend Dr. Stoner and stay very far away from Dr. Wininger.
