Default Great Doctors in Frederick MD and DC metro region

Hi,

I just wanted to say that I've had a wonderful experience with Capital Women's Care in Frederick, MD. I went to their OB/GYN practice due to heavy bleeding, and they were able to fit me in the same day my doctor referred me. I saw Dr. Brian Heyman, who is friendly and never got annoyed with my many questions.

My first time there, when he recommended an ultrasound to check for abnormalities (and found PCOS), I mentioned to the front desk how hard it is for me to get to their office as I work in DC. They went straight back to the sonar tech's office and managed to fit me in, and even had the doctor read the sonogram right afterwards.

I tried a few BCPs in the past and had side effects, so he put me on Loestrin 24 to see if that would help the PCOS - I kept having side effects and some bleeding, and they recommended a D and C. Originally I had questioned the surgery and sent them some questions about other treatments, and they patiently explained why it was the best solution.

I did get the D and C, and when I went in for a pre-op appointment, their office actually has a surgery coordinator who also coordinates with your insurance. Even before I got there, she had called Blue Cross to confirm my coverage and actually found out my whole plan and explained exactly how it worked. I had a general idea but was never totally sure, and she was very helpful. They needed to take some blood and were able to do that in office, too. They even have a little wall of puppies and babies to stare at if you are nervous.

Everyone on my surgery team was great and scheduling post-op appointments were easy too.

Also (maybe this is the case with most ob/gyns, but Ive never been to other ones) it was sort of comforting to have pamphlets about BCPs and issues like heavy bleeding posted around the office. It definitely makes some uncomfortable issues feel like they aren't a very big deal and are somewhat normal.

I have a friend who has had some bad experience with ob/gyns before, and she goes to CWC in Silver Spring and will not go anywhere else. I definitely recommend them!

They have an extensive website with provider bios and info about all their offices at www.cwccare.net
