Talking Great Dr in Corpus Christi

Thomas L Wilder -- MD, FACOG

Location: Main Office

Medical School Attended: MD, University of Texas Medical School
Residency: Naval Regional Medical Center
Board Certification Date: 1980

Areas of Special Interest: English and Spanish Languages

Dr. Thomas Wilder is one of the original co-founders, with Dr. Matey, of Corpus Christi Women's Clinic in 1981. He and Dr. Matey met each other while in training as residents in the same hospital. According to Dr. Wilder they wanted to form a partnership, "Because we had the same training and the same philosophies about how we wanted to practice medicine." After attending Texas A & M University, Dr. Wilder knew he wanted to attend medical school in Texas and chose University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio. His father was a physician with a family medicine practice in Falfurrias, so it is not surprising that he became a doctor. Dr. Wilder says, "I became an Ob/Gyn because it was the only field I could find where you could do everything including general practice and surgery." After completing eight years as a medical officer with the Navy, Dr. Wilder returned to Corpus Christi to pursue his goal. Dr. Wilder has five children, three boys and two girls. His oldest son has chosen to follow in his father's footsteps. Family and his children have always been a top priority to Dr. Wilder. Other special interests include reading and riding motorcycles.
Personal philosophy: "The joy in life is the reward you get from giving yourself with no expectations."

He is absolutely fantastic. He told sent me information when my mom told him about me (I don't have insurance) he gave me a 20% discount on my visit. He talked with me, he listened to me babble on and on for about twenty min, tripple checked to make sure the tests he was going to run on me were ok with me (as I was limited in funds) answered all of my questions. He was careful, professional and kind. He held my hand when I was nervous and told me I was his hero. He is absolutely FANTASTIC WONDERFUL SPLENDID.
