I was watching foodtv and saw a guy make a wonderful looking meal. I modified it and omg was it great!!!!!
Serves 4 people unless you are really hungry, lol.
1 lb U30 EZ Peel Shrimp (26-30 shrimp per pound or medium)
2 small zucchini (one yellow, one green is nice for presentation)
butter softened (i used a stick and have plenty left over, so maybe 2-3 tbs would be plenty)
Johnny Seasoning Garlic mix (or some dry garlic, dry parsly, salt and pepper)
slice zucchini into 1/4-1/2 rounds and then in half
peel shrimp
mix butter with garlic stuff to taste
in a large frying pan, dabble a little of the butter/garlic mixture, just enough to coat the pan. add the zucchini and saute for about a minute. then add the shrimp. it is done when the shrimp turn pink.
we served ours with tortillas, just spooned some into warm tortilla and ate it. but i think it is great without the tortilla, less carbs too, lol. we also had a green salad. it was so wonderful!!! yummy. and for those people who feel that a small normal portion isn't enough, well, this is low fat/ low carb enough to eat enough until you are full (if you omit the tortilla).
if you don't like zucchini, try other veggies, but i think that the texture of the zucchini matches perfect with the shrimp.

sounds great! Do you ever watch Low carb and Lovin it? he has some good ideas but he needs to work the camera a little more. It's like watching amatuer video.
all time fave is Iron chef and Alton Brown!
I ate at all of emeril's places in NO, okay but not great....
I heard you like Asian. My favorite is Vietnamese. I can post a great Vietnamese green bean and beef stirifry tomorrow.
I love Iron Chef, but not the american version. They ruined it, especially since I can't stand Bobby Flay.
Alton Brown is so awesome. I have a "thing" for him and dh thinks it is funny. He is dh's favorite chef too. Dh also watches Iron chef, every weekday at 10 and on saturdays too. Missed it this week because of supposed to be on vacation. He said that if they ever put all of the Iron chefs on dvd, he will buy them. Chen is his favorite.
Yes, we love Asian food and can't seem to find a good restaurant here, so we make our own.
Yummy Yummy
We also love Mexican.
Yes, please post your recipe, sounds like something to try out.
Actually I have never seen the Low carb show. Is it on during the day? I do like the one show, can't think of her name, $40 a day. Where the gal goes on trips and shows how you can eat on $40 a day and still have great meals. She also has another show where she has taken some of those meals from the $40 show and made them herself. I like that one too. She has done a few low carbs meals too.
BTW, I love your siggy!!!!

Low Carb and Lovin' It comes on 3 days a week. Wednesday afternoons at 5pm, and Friday and Sunday at noon. All times are Eastern and Pacific times.
They put his recipes up on the Food TV website, and for those of you who mentioned Chinese, there is currently a low carb chinese meal up on the show's page. The url is http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_ll
Personally, I'm not a fan of the show. He doesn't really have a tv personality. The idea of the show is nice, I just think they could tweak it to make it flow better.
The girl who does the $40 a Day show is Rachel Ray, and she does another show called 30 Minute Meals. I'm not a fan of her food, but I love watching her show because she's so perky. However, my favorite Food TV show is Paula Dean's show. She makes great food (not healthy food, I've never seen someone cook with so much butter!) and I think she's funny.

DH and I are huge food network fans. Rachel Ray and Alton Brown are definitely favs. If you go to foodtv.com and do a search on low carb you will get 70+ recipes. Also good (because it is so easy) is www.kraftfoods.com I love quick and easy and they have a bunch of both of those ideas with low carbs.
