Great low carb snack This is a great low carb snack.
Get a slice of processed full fat cheese ( the kind with maybe only 1 gram of sugar max). Put it on a sheet of parchment paper ( don't use wax paper) and put it in the microwave for about 30 secs on high. Keep nuking it until all the cheese is puffy and starting to turn a little golden. Alow to cool and viola, you oven home made cheese cracker. I often add crumbled pecans or sprinke my favorite herbs before the cooking process (maybe chili powder, or dill). When cool you could use the cheese cracker crumbled up as a great salad topper, or my favorite is to spread with 1/2 inch of cream cheese and top with a little tomato or capers. Yes it's true you can burn the cheese if you cook it too long, your house will smell awful and it will taste very bitter. It takes a bit of practice, but what a welcome cost effective crunch when your getting fed up with low carbing. Remember 1 gram or sugar per slice and 1 carb per slice, so its not low carb if you eat 14 slices all in one go.
Another great new product is the Almond Accents by Sunkist, they have great flavors and go well with cream cheese and a bit of celey, or just to snack on(Italian Parmesan are wonderful). The Blue Diamond Almond toppers say no sugar, but they list it as the second ingredient, they taste sweet, so I prefer the sunkist brand.
