I was doing a search on different antidepressants to ask my doctor about, and came across this website. I only skimmed through it, so maybe I missed something, but is this legitimate ?? The site is www.greatmood.com. I'm not considering it, just curious.
It looks to me like it's simply a blend of vitamins (and a few other things). Whether or not it works, is a matter of debate, I'm sure. It probably wouldn't hurt to try it (although I'd be more wary if TTC). $20 does seem a bit much for 30 pills. A multivitamin plus some St. John's Wort might be cheaper. Who knows . . . .

I just looked at it and it is basically a multi vit B complex (known to help depression and low energy levels) and St John's wort.
If you take those complexes it probably would help depression, especially if you were low on your vits. But then a good multi vit and St John's Wort would work the same
If you want a good supplement try the Athlete's Formula from Holland and Barrett - it is a multi vit (always good), plus it contains the same B vits (help low energy) , plus it has calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc (which combats low moods/obsessive) iodine (speeds up your metabolism), inositol, lecithin, chromium, potassium, choline, plus all the amino acids said to cure depression except l-tryptophan plus other stuff!!
5-HTP puts seratonin in your body. But, it is a derivative of seratonin so you can not take it if you're on and SSRI. The herbalist told me it would help me go to sleep, and that it would help obtain stage 4 sleep, but I take Celexa so I can't do both. You can od on seratonin. Hope you find something that will work for you. Lendi
