We have 3 wonderful foster children. They are now ages 2, 4, and 6. We have felt so blessed all along to have them and have just melted into a great family. Our biggest fear has been that they will go home to their bio family. They have been placed with us for 8 months.
Our caseworker called today and they got the go ahead from the legal dept of DCFS to go for permanent custody. We are so excited. They should go to court by December and we will hopefully know by Christmas. We are not out of the woods yet as the case could and probably will get continued and then the bio family has the right to appeal within 30 days.
I cant believe that after 3 Christmas's of praying for a baby we might actually be spending this year with our forever kids I am so happy I have been on the verge of tears all day. I know they are meant to be ours. Please keep us in your prayers and the bio family as well. I know it will be hard for them to lose the kids. They are very nice likable people who have just had a very hard life. We will continue to send them updates and pictures even though we will not be required to do so. They truly love there children, but lack the drive it takes to do the things to get them back.
Thank you all. I will keep you updated.
