Default Great RE in NE Ohio

Dr. Nash is the greatest doctor I have ever seen. His # is 330-375-7722. He is located in the Akron Area

I agree -- if you need an RE he is a GREAT doctor. Caring, compassionate, understanding and knowledgeable.

I highly recommend their entire practice.

Default R/e?

Thanks for info on Dr. Nash, I am a mom of a 16yr old in NE Ohio who has PCOS, and we have been to many doctors in the last year and half. We have seen Dr. Austin at the Cleveland, Clinic and she was very nice and informative (but as many of you know, after hours and hours of research I get it, now what are you going to do). She asked what we expected from her.

My problem is trying to find someone who will help manage the PCOS. Since my daughter is young, pregnancy is not our goal at the moment. Thankfully our family doc is great and let's me lead on the tests. We have been working with a naturopath and would love to find a doc that doesn't look at me crosseyed when I mention supplements and natural remedies. Love to find someon who takes multifaceted approach, R/E, Endo? Everyone we have seen is only concerned with that specialty.

She is on metformin and it regulated her periods and weight gain. Does Dr. Nash and his group primarily treat fertility.

Sorry for rambling, desperate mom syndrome. I feel for all of you.

First, I am happy to hear your daughter has already been diagnosed. So many of us PCOSers don't get diagnosed until later in life.

Anyways, I believe that Dr. Nash's office typically deals with OB and fertility issues. The one time I asked about other symptoms he said that an endocrinolgist would be a better match for managing.

I definitely think you need to look for an endocrinologist for her.

Good luck..

PS: I saw this post the other day, so I copied and pasted for you as it mentions a doc who specializes in PCOS....

N.E. Ohio - so far, so good!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Went to Dr. Frank Gonzalez out of MetroHealth system(I am employed with it), whom specializes in PCOS only-my first appt was 2 hours long and so far-he is fantastic! Even though I have been diagnosed since 1997, he wants to learn more about me-alot more thourough than any other doc I have had! I also learned alot about PCOS in general from him. Want to look his background up or make an appt? Go to www.metrohealth.org and go into the physician directory.

mmom:

Since your daughter is not TTC yet, and is in NE Ohio, I thought I would mention that the endocrinologist that I'm currently seeing, Dr. Armand Krikorian, at University Hospital, has been the best out of all the gyno's/endo's that I've been to (about 5 or 6). He was the first one to officially give me a diagnosis, and the first one to give me the option of Metformin. He listens to you and answers all your questions, actually explains the test results, and he does not look at you crosseyed when you mention naturopathic remedies. I asked him about a few of them and he told me that they were all fine to take with my prescriptions.
