Question Green Bean Casserole?

My aunt and uncle love green bean casserole so I have agreed to bring that for christmas dinner. However my mom and a few others don't like the cream of mushroom soup in it. So I've looked up some alternative ways to make it. I found these that sound so yummy:

Here's a basic recipe with other options:

1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
3/4 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
2 packages (9 ounces each) frozen cut green beans, thawed*
1 1/3 cups French Fried Onions, divided

1. Combine soup, milk and pepper in a 1 1/2 -quart
baking dish; stir until blended. Stir in beans and 2/3 cup French Fried Onions.
2. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until hot. Stir. Sprinkle with remaining 2/3 cup onions. Bake 5 minutes or until onions are golden.

*Or 2 cans (14 1/2 ounces each) cut green beans, drained.

Tomato Alfredo Green Bean Casserole:
In step 1, substitute 1 cup prepared Alfredo sauce for the soup, and reduce milk to 1/2 cup; mix well. Stir in 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese and 1/3 cup oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, drained and cut into thin strips. Proceed as recipe directs.

Swiss-style Green Bean Casserole:
In step 1, add 1/3 cup sour cream, and reduce milk to 1/3 cup; mix well. Stir in 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese. Proceed as recipe directs.

Which one sounds more appealing? I am leaning more towards the Swiss-style. Does anyone else make it any other way that they like? I'm open to suggestions!

TIA!!

Boo Hoo!

People are so picky at holidays dinners!

Anyways my suggestion is use cream of celery or chicken.

But I would tell my family; if they dont like it dont eat it!

Hi

I have been making the green bean casserole for the last 10 or so years. I have changed my recipe a bit. I add a can of mushrooms, and I also use different beans. I use french style, green and yellow wax beans. This past time, my mom bought the ingredients and when I went to make it, we noticed she bought cream of chicken along with cream of mushroom. I wasn't too happy about that but used it. I was really glad we did. It was really good! Better then usual. I have also wondered if broccoli chicken cheese would be good.
