Cool green cabbage recipes?

Hi everyone,

I received 2 heads of organic green cabbage and I'm wondering what to do with them? I made stuffed cabbage last week so that's out. I guess I could also make coleslaw. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!!

I have done a stir fry thing with cabbage.

1. You take your cabbage and shread it like you are making cole slaw.

2. I then spray the pan with non stick spray and a small pat of butter or margarine in the bottom. Just enough to coat the skillet.

3. Next you add the shreadded cabbage and put a top on the skillet. Cook on low to medium. Stirring occassionally to ensure it cooks even.

4. After you can tell the cabbage is starting to cook, I add vinegar to taste. I don't add alot because you don't want it soggy.

5. After the vinegar, I add a little splenda to cut the bitterness. I also add salt and pepper to taste.

6. When it gets to the consistency that you like, take the top off and let it cook a little longer.

I assumed by you user name that you are a vegetarian. If you aren't I add Thick slices of Turkey Polish Sausage for added protein.

This has taken some experimenting to get it the way I like it, but it is good and diffent. I like it because if you do it right, the cabbage is still kind of chrisp. That is a change from kraut.

Hope this helps.

Default Cabbage Lasagna

Just make your sauce like normal and instead of pasta, you layer the lasanga with steamed cabbage leaves. It doesn't use a lot of cabbage, but I enjoyed the meal and it cuts out all that carb-loaded pasta.

Default salads...

I love cabbage.
I highly recommend taking your favourtite potato or macaroni salad recipe and putting shaved cabbage. I love it.

Koreans here love cabbage, so they use it instead of lettuce. So green salads are with cabbage...its actually pretty good, since its so crunchy....

good luck
