I have started drinking Green Tea as I saw lots of Cysters with it in their sig and have heard many good things over the years about its cleansing properties.
But, I was wondering, what is it actually supposed to do for us Cysters? Is it just a way for people giving up coffee to get caffeine? Cos I never drank coffee anyway so am now wondering if I am doing more harm than good by adding caffeine to my system.

I love green tea - if nothing else it helps me keep away the sweet cravings after dinner. Especially tonight when AF is on her way and I'm craving chocolate! lol It keeps me busy
I can't stand the taste of coffee and I'll only have a red bull around exams when my days are longer with the study. But I don't notice the caffeine effect from green tea.

I hear (not sure) green tea is a no-no for pregnant women. I also heard you're not supposed to boil the water because you'll lose nutritional properties and it'll also add up to the natural bitterness of green tea.
Hope that helps.
ETA: I also don't think you should be worried about the caffeine effect because a cup of coffee (say, one espresso) has a lot more caffeine than one cup of green tea. I'm a coffee addict and could not give up coffee when I was drinking a whole liter of green tea a day. That should tell you something, I guess...

Hi green tea also speeds up the metabolism and aids weight loss. Last time i was dieting it really helped me by taking 3 cups per day but it gives me awful headaches and my teeth feel funny. I keep meaning to take it again this time round but ive not had much yet because of my headaches

I also take green tea for the metabolism boost. I take a multi-vitamin which also has green tea and guarana. It actually makes me hungry. Now if it only came with a daily dose of self control
