Default Grocery List - please help!

I'm new to Pcos and IR so are there any foods that are healthy and helpful for IR and conceiving I could add to my grocery list? (keeping in mind my body is producing cholestorol 290 is my level)

Maybe can you guys give me an example of your grocery list so I have an idea what to aim for?

Thanks!

Hi there. My grocery list varies from a lot of women on here because it has chocolate and rice on it. But I have read the ir diet book and they reccomend a lot of veggies and lean protein. If your not watchng your salt content I would say some nice lunchmeat and a really good cheese. Whole grains are good too. I don't really have any other suggestions but I thought I would bump this up so others would respond Good luck!

Thanks! I'm looking for a healthy cheese, is ricotta or blue cheese a low fat one? I have to watch everything to get my body in top shape for fertility treatment next cycle.

I eat chicken, wild salmon, sole, egg whites. Cantalope, raspberries, blueberries, bananas, strawberries, brocolli and carrots. 12 grain bread, skim milk, Orange juice, bottled water.

I need to add to it but I don't know what other foods are "safe" and I would like a healthy cheese to add too.

The safest way to grocery shop is do the "Outside Tour." By this I mean go to those places that are typical on the outside aisles...produce, meat, dairy. And maybe sneak by the bakery and pick up a loaf of healthy whole grain bread. Just avoid the frozen section and all those aisles full of refined, processed, artificially colored, artificially flavored, carbohydrate laden evils.

You have to link and balance...30g of carbs with 15g of protein. And no more than 30g of carbs in a two-hour period.

I just try to get the majority of my carbs from fruits and veggies. I usually have one slice of bread as toast in the morning or as a sandwich for lunch. And maybe once a week I'll have multigrain pasta or brown rice or something like that.

What kind of diet is good for someone with very limited income that does not like fruits and veggies? I need a grocery list too.

Yes they do make a low fat ricotta cheese. Not sure about the bleu cheese though. The low fat ricotta is used in South Beach for a dessert idea but I didn't care for it. I love ricotta in main dishes but it was too grainy for dessert.
