Angry Grrr! TSH of 69!!!

Hi ladies -

I've been hypothyroid for years and just recently diagnosed with IR and PCOS. I started taking metformin in March. In December, my TSH was around 3 (I think...) I had my TSH checked by a new endocrinologist in May, came back at 48 - yikes! So the doctor re-tested on Friday - I called today and I'm up to 69! Holy crap! No wonder I've been feeling so awful. I've never felt great since I was diagnosed hypothyroid (like 10 years ago) but my TSH levels have been pretty controlled - anybody have any ideas about what could make things spike up like this so suddenly?

Thanks in advance for whatever ideas you all have!!

Sometimes it just goes. PFFT. :o

Hormone changes usually cause issues. Maybe when you started taking the metformin your other hormones started balancing which caused your thyroid to give up the ghost. It happens. Don't blame the metformin for it- your thyroid was just hanging on by a thread anyway it looks like.
