i have just been to my doctor, to talk about pcos and the symptom i have,
i talked with HIM about facial hair, which is very difficult to talk about to a man, but i did it, and he was more interested in my weight, (i am over weight but have been for most of my life.) he wont prescribe anything to do with the hair, but has given me some weight control meds which i dont mind i have had them before and they worked but hey i never went about that. he has also suggested stopping an anti-anxiety drug that the psychiatrist started about a year ago, as he thinks i quote "it makes you gain weight" huh i rather be fat than anxious all the time, grrr blooming doctors think that weight can cause or be blamed for everything!!!!! he also said i again quote which came first the weight or the pcos" i dont give a SH** i have both so deal with it

aww, drs always say that the weight loss is THE thing to do. As if it's the easy part.......... Is there a different dr you could see about your pcos?? i personally had to change gp surgery to get any help. do you see an Enod at the hospital? that's who gave me the spiro (for the hair)

If at all possible FIND A DIFFERENT DOCTOR!!! Peferably one that knows about PCOS. This guy sounds like a dip.

I suggest finding another dr that has a little bit more concern than that. It took me a long time to finally find a dr that said getting the weight off me was one of his last steps. Getting me regular is the foremost priority. Then we deal with the other stuff. Keep looking. The right dr is out there somewhere. I promise. Or come to MS...I'll send you to my dr.

I agree, see if you can find a better doc. Too many docs think that the weight causes all the other health problems, so they focus on the weight instead of the things that are a priority concern for YOU. You really need to find a doc who will focus on the things that you are concerned most about, and then if there are other things that they think need to be addressed, they can add some into about those things.
