Default Grrrr... I hate having Diabetes!!!

Ok ... I am going to be part of this medical study through my internist's office and his business partner. My doc specializes in Diabetes Care and his partner specializes in Heart Disease.

This study is for those with diabetes and high choloestrol. Someone like me, to see if a new combo pill (Avandia & Zocor) will work better in conjunction with a patient's current meds. In my case, Metformin. Hopefully it will work. I have lots of faith, my diabetes is out of control and it needs to be fixed!

So here's the thing. He told me not to refill my Met cause they will be providing all the meds and monitor and test strips needed during the course of this 16 week study.

I haven't really been on it, cause even though he gave me something similar to Met, (it's like Met XR), It's only enough for 1 week, and he and his secatery were out for 2 weeks, so my body has been going through some massive changes. Which starting and then stopping.

PLUS, my monitor is now dead, it won't read test strips whatsoever and when I called the company, they wouldn't do anything fro me, said my warranty on the monitor is dead. I'veh ad my monitor for almost 3 years. I want to get a new one, the FreeStyle Mini. I can get it for free with the purchase of 100 test strips. But I have to call my diabetes doctor to see if he can provide, as he did say that they provide that kinda thing for the study.

So now I have to come up with a schedule for taking this metformin XR, as it's only 500mg a pill, so to come even remotely close to my last dosage of 850mg 2x daily, I have to take this 500mg at least 3x daily.

Sorry for unloadly all this, I just needed to get all this worry out of my head and do something costructive with it. Thanks for letting me vent about all this. If something doesn't make sense, sorry, sometimes I think faster than I type.
