GTF Chromium - How do you take yours? First, I have been a lurker for YEARS! This is a wonderful resource, and I am utterly convinced that Kat Carney is one of God's special angels. Thank you all!
I was diagnosed with PCOS at around 13 or 14. Mine is a very similar story, no periods, excess hair growth, mood swings, depression, skin tags, dark skin patches, enlarged clitoris. Actually, I didn't realize that my 'enlarged clitoris' was a symptom of PCOS until I went to see Dr. Michelle Warren in NYC. She is a renowned PCOS specialist.
I am 6'1", and my highest weight was 315. I was 262 in the seventh grade. I'll spare you the gory and all too common details of what THAT was like! I've been on and off of glucophage for years. Dr. Warren actually helped me to realize that glucophage is NOT the answer, at least for me. The ANSWER is making a decision to be healthy and change my life. I think she could see that my request for the highest possible dosage reflected my dependence on the meds (and not ME) to take of the weight. Of course, the meds will help, but without that decision the cycle will inevitably continue.
I am now 30 years old and the decision has been made. I'm down to 271, from a size 26/28 to an 18/20. I exercise regularly (yoga, walking, gym). I have committed to completing the Honolulu Marathon next December. So, the next six months will focus on getting fit, and I'll start training in June! At this point, I plan to power-walk, but we'll see how things are going in June. I may end up running!
In addition to multivitamins, I am taking GTF Chromium. There is also a bit of chromium in my multivitamin. I'd like to know HOW you ladies are taking yours. All in the morning? Two or three times a day? I've worked my way up to 600 mcgs a day. I take it all in the morning, mostly because I know that taking it 3x a day will be difficult for me. Any suggestions?
Thank you thank you than you!!!!
Blessings,
