GTT and what's involved?

I have to go up sometime this week to the lab and get a 2 hour GTT, cholesterol testing, and a testosterone test. Can I ask what's involved in this, basically what to expect? I'm a little concerned because last time they tried to test me for diabetes, I drank the first glass of that nasty orange stuff, and promptly threw up, then went home. I was pregnant at the time, but I was never sick during the pregnancy (which I later lost). How long do you have to fast beforehand? What is involved in the testing? Just taking blood? How much of that nasty sugary crap do I have to drink? I could really use some help. Thank you.

You will usually have a overnight fast. With mine I just drunk the full bottle of the stuff( I had 3 choices of favors , grape, lime, and orange) They told me the orange was the least naughtiest of them all so I took that one. (was still sickening)
Blood is obtained before I drank the glucose solution, and blood is drawn again every 30 to 60 minutes after the glucose is consumed for up to how long your test is.
I felt really sleepy,had to pee alot and some what of a upset tummy durning it but that was about it for me.

Thank you very much. I'm a little nervous about it, because, as I said, last time I had to drink that nasty orange stuff I threw it up within twenty minutes. I just hope I can make it through this one, and it doesn't happen again.

Your welcome its not a problem please post an update after its all done. I am sending you good vibes your way. I know you will do fine. Also, take a book or something to keep you busy ( it will help you keep you mind off it plus help the time go faster).
