i'm currently undiagnosed but probably have PCOS. (I have almost all of the symptoms and I'm awaiting an appointment with an endocrinologist to know for sure).
I've been doing alot of research and from the pictures I've seen of polycystic ovaries shouldn't my gyno have been able to feel it if i do have it when she did the external exam (when she feels the uterus and ovaries?) please get back to me ASAP!
Not necessarily...I'd say unless you have some incredibly large cysts. I was first diagnosed by ultrasound the "pearled" mark of cysts of my ovaries, followed by work-ups of bloodwork and a sonohysteroscopy. PCOS can be very tricky. Not everyone's symptoms are the same. Hope they find an answer for you soon!

And not everyone with PCOS even has cystic ovaries, further complicating things!

Someone else said it, but not everyone even develops cysts. I don't have any cysts (not yet anyway) but I have several of the symptoms of PCOS and nothing ever showed up on any of my exams. So, to answer your question, it's not something that would have necessarily showed up in your gyno exams.
