Well I don't really know where to post this, so sorry if its in the wrong spot but I really need to vent. I had and HSG for those who don't know what this is its a test where they inject dye into your uterus and fallopian tubes to check structure and see if there is any blockage.
Well mine was today and I am ready to just cry my right tube is blocked probably due to the fact my appendix burst in me when I was 15 and it wasn't operated on until a week later. So I feel kind if robbed in that aspect if they had just done somethine the first time I went in for the abdominal pain when I was 15 instead of sending me home saying it was a cyst or cramps then maybe I would have this obstacle as well. I feel like everything is against me. First PCOS and Insulin Resistance and a tilted uterus then Hashimotos Thyroiditis, now this..... I am terrified that my right ovary is going to be messed up as well since I remember htem telling me that I had fluid on my ovary when I was 15 and my appendix had ruptured. That was why they thought it was a cyst at the time....IT was actually the poison from the appendix. I am sorry to be venting I am just having a hard, emotional time. I feel like my Metformin and my Synthroid meds aren't even working. I feel so helpless and alone. My husband loves me but he doesn't want to talk about it because he doesn't like to see me cry but it hurts keeping it all bottled in all the time. I moved to GA less than a year ago and I don't have any friends here it is just so hard. Again I am sorry for being so whiney I know everyone has problems.

I am really sorry to hear about your HSG. It seems like PCOS is just a name for a lot of problems that happen to certain women. It is okay to be whiney. It is okay to feel down. I am not sure of what religion you are or if you are but maybe a pastor (or his wife) or someone could sit down with you and DH and just let you talk and vent. Then they could pray with you. PRAYER IS A VERY POWERFUL THING and if David can take Goliath with God on his side then you will be able to handle this. Keep your head up and you and DH take some time to get away and focus on something else for just a day or two. It is hard to do but it makes a world of a difference!

Victoria,
I am so sorry you are having a rough time. Please go over to the TTC forum and look for the One Tube Wonders thread. There are lots of women out there who are forging ahead and being successful with TTC with only one tube. It is not impossible although I am sure you feel it might be right now. Give yourself some time to process the news and then go look at the success stories so you can see there is still hope.
I wish you the best of luck!

Oh, Sweetie, I hope you get to feeling better. You're a lucky girl to have even survived an untreated appendix rupture, but I know it's awful to find out yet another obstacle. I understand about not having any friends where you live. My DH is in the Army, and we moved to upstate NY a year and a half ago, and I don't have any friends here either. It's hard! Believe me, I feel you on that. Sometimes you just want to grab someone to go shoe shopping with you, or go get your nails done, or even just drink a cup of coffee and watch Dr. Phil, but there IS no one! I hate it. But I'll be your friend! And all the girls on here. My email is laulbow@yahoo if you ever need to vent, or chit chat or whatever. I hope your day gets better!

I only have one open tube and PCOS. Today I am 19 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby. It can happen. It takes time, and it sucks you have two things working against you. My Re said that sometimes the good tube will pick up an egg from the other side. Although that isn't the case with me. The cycle I got pregnant with my 3rd daugther I ovulated 3 eggs from the open tube.
The good news is you have one tube! With one tube open you can get pregnant without IVF. I remember the RE thinking both were blocked, that is why I had a second HSG...and I was so relieved it was only one.
Please let me know if you need to talk.

You girls are so wonderful. Thank you all for being there for me. I am waiting for my GYN to recieve the results of the HSG he will call whne he gets them and then he will go over the options. I remember at my first visit he said somethign about surgery to fix a blocked tube so I am still hoping that can be done and work. My othe rconcern is my right ovary. If damage was done to the tube by my appendix then what kind of damage was done to my ovary. I don't really know if they can do anythign for that......
