Default Hair Everywhere??

The other day I got out of the shower and noticed that I have hair on my breasts (very fine but somewhat a light dark brown color) and I also noticed that I have some facial hair coming in to. About a year ago I had electrolysis (sp?) and I thought that it was permanently gone and now its back again and its very embarrassing. I wont even allow my fiancee' to touch my face because Im afraid he will notice it so I have been plucking it out with tweezers and its iritating.

Any suggestions to permanently remove unwanted hair on my breasts and my face?

Thanks!!!

I would restart electrolysis treatment on your face. Not all the hair grows at the same rate. While some hairs may very well be gone, others could just be starting. Since you had good results last year, I would do it again.

As for your breast area, since the hair is fine, I would probably just bleach it (don't pluck or shave it, trust me).

It would also help to discuss drug treatment (if you aren't already on something) with your Endocrinologist, like Spironolactone.

Best wishes.

It's been discussed before, but here is a quick lowdown so you won't have to search for too long on the threads :
Although it is true that hair grows at different rates, and treatment of any sort must be done in stages over a time period which allows for multiple treatments, you can still see more coarse hairs develop as time progresses. This could be older folicules which enter thier active state over time, but they could also be newer folicules developing.

If you have PCOS and elevated androgens, your fine vellus (thin light hairs) will be stimulated to become what are known as 'terminal' or darker coarse hairs. This can continue to happen if so long as the androgens are at work, which is why often following laser or electrolosis, individuals see hair appear to return again months later even after repeated treament. So what we're saying is that its often not old hairs returning, but newer terminal hairs developing.

With PCOS, often the hair isn't super dark or coarse, and it is often diffuse, which according to my laser tech makes for difficulty in treatment. In my case, years of waxing made for easier treatment, however, and we are having luck. It's been a year, and in most areas I have about 75-80% reduction, and more or less in others. I have another year in the plan, but we expect that soon it will be possible to cut back frequency.

The main thing is, get the hormones under controll, and you'll generally see less folicule development.

Best,
Cassy

First of all, you won't stop male-type hair developing unless you get your hormones into the normal female range. No method of hair removal is permanent in the sense of guaranteeing no further hair growth in that area of your body unless your hormone balance is maintained in the normal female range.

Far more important, however, don't keep your fiancé away from your face. He'll almost certainly be far more concerned about being kept away than he would be by the hair growth.

Much better to share the fact with dh and laugh about it than to try to hide it from him and worry about him finding out -- which of course he would anyway.
