Default Hair Extensions Anyone?

Hiiii all my beautiful cysters xD.
I was just wondering if anyone has tried hair extensions? My hair is starting to thin out, it has been for about 4ish months now.. It's not insanely bad or anything. Just at the front it's more thin and at my hairline, nothing to horrible *knocks on wood* lol.
But I used to have thick, thick, thick hair, so I was wondering if any of you have tried hair extensions to bring back the fullness? If so, Can they be done around the hairline and/or temple area? I'm talking about bonded hair extensions and even clip-on ones. I've always been convinced they only start halfway down your head but I'm hoping I'm wrong lol.

If you haven't tried them, just tell me about how you do your best to keep your hair from further falling out? Mines not bad like I said, I'd like to keep it that way..

Thanks ladies xD

Yes I have extensinos in due to my excess hair loss .. I have significant loss at the temple area and also diffuse all over i have been having extensions done for the last four years . I have most of them around the temple area and hairline wihtout them I look disgusting.

I go to www.wattzinternational.co.uk and she has done some amazing work with other people with hair loss. I would recommend you go to a person who specialises in hair loss howeer and not some random salon

For my sisters wedding last year and my 21st I got weaved in hair extentions, I had/have really bad pattern baldness on top. So, the difference in the extentions was huge! She doubled them on my temple and my hair had never looked so full before and the confidence boost was fantastic.

One of the downfalls was the corn rolls you get, but you get used to it. When I took them out (close to 3months later!! Last ages!! I washed my hair almost everyday, with extentions you can, so i would wash just the top - which was my own hair lol)
i was horrified by the difference in my hair, I was so used to feeling my hair being thick for so long, that it was a big difference without them.I cried. Then I went to see a hair specialist, Ive had laser done and am using a special shampoo, serums and tablets and its made a big difference!

Dont get the glued in ones, they are killer on your hair - the chemicals are terrible for the follicles.

Good luck to you with whichever you decide, i know if i had the funds Id get it done again - just for the self esteem boost. Hope this helps.

If part of your hairloss is due to excess DHT on your scalp, my recommendation would be to use clip in extensions that you can take out every day, so that you can cleans your scalp regularly.

I wore sewn in extensions for years. It was great never having a bad hair day, but as Shalamar expressed, when you get them taken out every 6 to 8 weeks, it's kind of a shocker to see several weeks of shedding all at once.

It's also weird to go from VERY thick hair to your regular hair (even if your hair is on the thick side.)

Extensions helped me grow my hair 'long', but I only wear the clip in ones now. I really like the Jessica Simpson ones. If you need extra fullness at the temples, you can get some shorter clips, but they work and look great...they're less expensive than professionally done extensions, they aren't as hot as regular extensions, and at the end of the day, you can take them out and wash your hair.

HSN.com sells the Jessica Simpson ones (and currently they're working with their holiday return policy, so you can buy them now, and take until Jan31, 2009 to return them for a full refund.)

You can also buy them locally at Ulta.
