Wink Hair - Foil Highlights? Need Opinions

Hello everyone :] I was thinking of getting foil highlights for my hair, I'm a little worried due to the fact that I AM more prone to hair fallout/thinning. Ever since I found out I had PCOS which was about 2 months ago, I've been extremely worried about getting my hair cut & styled. Although I can just tell the hairstylist to go soft or whatever I still have that fear, I'm thinking it's time to over-come that though.

So my question for all you beautiful women issssssss, Have you ever foiled your hair while having PCOS? Did you notice any major damage to your hair, I know that foiling isn't the best for your hair in the first place but I'm really just trying to do whatever I can to make myself feel more womanly & beautiful, and I LOVE getting my hair done.

Any opinions? I'm thinking of only getting "partial head highlights" so they'd only go from root to the middle of your head.

Hi,

Over the past few years my hair has thinned out it used to be lovely and think at one point..

I too was scared of doing anything to it but had enough of it looking how it was so went and got it cut and fully highlighted at christmas..

My hair seems fine i would go with a hairdresser you trust also there is dyes available for people with sensitive hair and stuff my aunt had alopecia and there was some dyes with no chemicals in it that worked great on her hair when he hair was growing back but still fragile.

I've continued getting my hair highlighted since finding out I had PCOS and haven't noticed any difference.

I think that it affects different people in different ways. Personally, I do have mild hair loss, but it could just be from my hair rejuvenating itself. I have a lot of hair, so me losing a few strands here and there won't be noticeable. I've never worried about getting my hair cut, colored or highlighted. I've had PCOS for over 10 years and get my hair done throughout the year. But, I do have sensitive skin and my hairdresser uses vegetable dyes on my dair. You definitely have options!

Iam a hairstylist and I think u should be fine in fact it may even give u more body to your hair. I would just find someone that does and good job and knows how not to damage your hair. Iam confused on the partial highlight thing being from roots to middle? when I do a partial its just not the whole head maybe just through the top and not the underneath

Wink

Hello again everyone :]

So with all your kinds words and comments, I built up the courage and GOT MY HAIR DONE!!!

I absoloutly LOVE my hairstylist and she does an amazing job, I asked her to go more gentle and she did, She was a bit rough in some places but didn't bother me to much. I felt so good getting my hair done.

I got caramel foil highlights and my hair is naturally a dark brown so it looks really good, I love it. Then I got my hair layered to frame my face and some cute sidebangs. I absoloutly love it.

And shanna you were right! It gave my hair ALOT more volume for some reason, I don't know if it's how she parted it or whatever but it looks really good. And yes you were right, I was wrong lol. She basically highlighted like the top layer of my hair and left the underneath alone lol. She said that's best for me anyways since I wear my hair down alot, she said not to waste money and get a fullhead.

Anyways loves, I LOVE my hair and feel SO much better and womanly xD
Thank you all SO much for your feedback, It helped me out alot in making my decision.
