Has anyone else experienced hair loss while taking Provera? I am getting very paranoid about it.

hi heidi,
i didnt see your post in the other section dealing with hair, so decided to answer you here.
each one reacts differently to different medicines. it could be possible that you could be getting hair loss as a side effect due to provera.
better check with your doctor and keep yourself loaded with your multivitamins.
sometimes, stress along with weather change, and food habits can also trigger hairloss, so try to be happy.

i personally believe,we all need to live in peace within ourselves, so we try to learn and u nderstand others, and live in peace with all around us.
Can't say that I have any problems with Provera. But I do have the same problems with Metformin!! I had to stop taking it due to my hair was falling out.
I had probs with hair loss too. I took Provera for about three months just to get things going and it was a major major issue. I'm worse than both of our pups put together. I've clogged every drain in the house with my hair including the kitchen sink when doing dishes lol! Once off the Provera though I do notice it isn't quite as bad. I'm on Met though and it still is quite bad. I notice that mine changes a lot with my cycle now though. I'm waiting to o any day now and I've noticed that my hair issues aren't as bad right now as they are just before during and a day or so after af.

I'm not sure if you are also taking Metphormine, but I definitely lost alot of hair when I was taking it, i actually had to stop as I was afraid of losing it all. I have never had the same effect on provera however. I would definitely mention it to your DR.,asap.
Good luck,
Thanks everyone for your responses. I have been off the Provera for about two weeks now and my hair loss seems to be slowing down. Sorry that I didn't put this question on the correct thread to begin with. I am still learning how this site works.
