Hair loss Hello, I have been diagnosed with PCOS just recently, but I have known, along with my OB for a long time that I have suffered from it. It just came recently that I had a diagnosis because I have been ttc and have been to a reproductive endocrinologist. I have had typical symptoms: weight gain around the middle, acne, high insulin levels, the dark "ring" around my neck, etc. However, lately I have noticed that I have lost a lot of hair in the shower. Every time I put my hands through it lots of hair comes out. At first I thought about it, but lately it has bothered me a lot. You can not tell by looking at me, as I have very thick hair. My husband just went through my hair tonight and said he cannot tell one bit, but we, as women, all know that we know best usually what is going on in our bodies. I have yet to be treated for PCOS, because I am having a something stimulation test on Monday and the dr wants to get the to bottom of my other high hormone levels before we start our plan of attack on this.
I can "deal" with many of the symptoms I have, but losing hair scares me to death. Once treatment begins, does this usually subside? I know this may sound silly, but could I go completely bald at some point? I am just really depressed tonight about this and I actually am panic ridden. I know that a person naturally loses their hair but this is excessive. I have never lost this much. Please help. I want to feel better about this, but I also want to know the truth. Thanks in advance for any advice!
