Default Hair loss

Hi. Can anyone tell me if there is anything I can do to make my hair grow. I used to have really thick hair and now its so thin and you can easily see my scalp through my thinning hair. I know this is one of the symptoms of PCOS, but is there anything I can do to fix this? Any info is helpful. Thanks!

Ladies, take some time and read all the questions here you can, and get an idea of what some of the other ladies are trying. There is no sure cure to bring back your thick hair the way it was before. I know some girls have some success in stopping loss with Spiro, and some girls find Rogaine helps. But this is a very difficult problem to deal with.

Yes, PCOS can be the cause of thinning hair and hair loss, but it can also be due to other problems like thyroid problems, and some medications can cause some hair loss. There are also some other conditions unrelated to PCOS that can cause hairloss. Going on and off the Pill can trigger it, as can giving birth, when you have some hormonal changes. Make sure that you and your doc take all those things into account when you try to figure out what's happening. Good Luck!

Hi Angie. Well, in my case its happend slowly over the years. I started noticing the difference about 2 1/2 years ago. My hair was always thick. The texture and the amount that I had. Now, its thinning on top to where you can see my scalp through my hair. Im very self conscious about it. Is this how yours is? Mine doesn't really come out in handfuls or anything like that. Maybe you should consult your Doctor. If I run into any info regarding hair growth, I'll let you know.

My hair gradually thinned overall for about six years. The, I've noticed the more severe loss on top and on my hairline in the past 7-8 months.

Mine is coming out, like if Irun my hand through my hair, itis short, I get a couple of strands at least. My pilow in the morning has several strands. When I go to the states for vacation I may try to get an appt with a doctor.

Thanks again.
