Default Hair Loss is driving me crazy...

Hi All,

Lately I have noticed my hair falling out in clumps and I don't know what to do. I have been neglectful on my metformine for about 2 months, I take it here and there, do you think that could be the problem. I'm so scared to go bald.

Thanks,

I started to lose more hair once I was put on met and BCP. I don't which one or if either of them made my hair fall out more. Once I saw I was REALLY thinning on the crown of my head I went to the doc and she put me on aldactone. She also suggested taking a multvitamin and a b-complex. On top of all of that I bought Avalon shampoo and conditioner with saw palmetto and I started dieting and exercising. This hair loss has really motivated me to do something!! My hair loss has decreased significantly but I probably still lose too much. I hope you find something that works for you.

My hair loss has got so bad over hte years I am forced to wear extensions ... I have visibally balding temples and thinning all over the top of my head .. I can no longer "style" my hair because of the state its in ... I get severely depressed and have since been diagnosed with male pattern balding due to PCOS this I hvae been told other than the use of rogaine will not stop ... I have used rogiane for 2 years and its still thinning ...

I would suggest you get a dermatologist to do some blood work adn find out if youc an take any of hte recmmended drugs, I am on Proscar and Metformin and rogiane .. have been on Spiro, Diane35 and others but nothing has helped in my case. .. as my hair loss gets worse my body hair gets worse !!

The last time i was at the doctor's he told me about male pattern baldness, it scared the heck out of me. My hair has always been so very important to my self esteem. I don't understand, we deal with so much with this PCOS, hair growing where it doesn't belong, large guts, hormones everywhere and now this. WHY US????? I'm waiting for my appt. with a derm. and a gyn. hopefully one of them can help me out. I pulled out a full ponytail worth of hair when I was cleaning out the tub the other. It's so hard to stay positive.

I share your sadness over the hair thing Mine's still coming out in handfuls with no sign of stopping. My hair is half way down my back and has always been my fave feature so I am proper gutted I have to style it really carefully now, if I put it back in a ponytail or similar, it looks awfully thin where it pulls back accross the scalp so those styles are a no-no for me now

I'm hoping acupuncture will start to help sort out my hormones, although I don't hold out much hope
