Default Hair Loss and hair dye

I've always had really thin hair, so I like to get highlights professionally to spark things up a bit.

During my pregnancy, none of my hair fell out, and looked really nice. Now, as my hair has begun to fall out again, I am wondering if I should lay off the hair dye. Anyone experience that processed hair falls out any faster??? That's my concern at the moment...

Hilighting won't make it shed any worse, but if it damages it, then it can break off. I don't think it would hurt it but I quit coloring mine over a year ago. I would sometimes hilight a little or put some semiperm. color on. I still occasionally put a little semi on, just to tone it a little. But I can tell it is alot healthier when I don't hilight. It just eats my hair up! But as long as your going the professional route, you should be ok. Have fun!

Chemical dyes do weaken the hair strand, and increase the chance it may snap off,so You need to be extra careful with dyed hair.
Look into natural hair dies by companies like Aveda, which are more gentle and do not damage the cuticle of the hair.
Just highlighting the hair is less damaging then a full hair dye, because it doesnt touch the roots.

Good Luck!
