I lose hair everyday in the shower and when I blow dry my hair. How do I know if its a normal amount to lose or if its too much? Its obviously not falling out in clumps otherwise I would know its a problem. I estimate that I lose about 20 hairs in the shower and then another 20 when I dry my hair. That doesn't sound like too much, does it?

It is estimated that a person loses about 100 strands of hair a day. I'd say it varies from person to person, but if you're losing only about 40 that you directly notice, I'd say you're about normal.
