Red face Hair loss makes me not care...

I have thinning hair on the top of my head near my bangs. It is also very gray in that area. I recently had it colored at a salon and it looked great but then I had alot of hair breakage I guess due to leaving the color on so long. Anyway, I am afraid to color it again so I have this thin, gray hair on top. I am 5'4" and weigh almost 200# so I have alot of weight to lose also. But since having the hair loss, I really don't even try to lose weight, or dress nice, or wear makeup or anything. I feel like it won't matter what I do as long as I am losing my hair that's all people will see. Please give me some good advice. There has to be a solution besides Rogaine which I refuse to use. Anybody else feel this way?

Hairpiece now, styled similarly to what you have been wearing recently. It'll make you feel better.

If you want to color your hair without any harmful chemicals, try henna + indigo. Check out hennaforhair.com for more information. Pcos has made me lose my amazing thick, waist long thick hair. I had it cut to shoulder length. Being on Yasmin, the hair is growing back, yes!!!

I feel EXACTLY the same way. My hair is thinning in the same area and there's no real way to hide it with extensions or anything. I'm so sick of feeling like an unattractive person and I decided to do something about it. I started by buying some cute berets and big earrings for a new style (that covers the hair) and I've been going to the gym every day. For the past few days, I've felt so much better! I feel much more comfortable in my body and my attitude and interaction with others has been so much more positive.

If you're not comfortable wearing fake hair, experiment with some new styles- different hats, headwraps, anything that's different and that you like! Something stylish that covered the hair was all I needed to get out of my funk. Good luck finding something that works for you!

Default Try Bumble & Bumble Hair Powder or Dermmatch!

These dont correct the problem they just cover it up! I have to use this or I feel naked! The Bumble & Bumble is a spray, I love it! It does wonders!!

I've had some success with the lasercomb. It's really expensive though. I don't know if it actually regrew any of my hair but it made it look thicker and healthier. You can get a lot of good hair advice on heralopecia.com also. It's a site for women who have hair loss issues.

my next door neighbour lost most of her hair after she had her last daughter five years ago, it hasn't grown back.
She went and bought a loverly wig and took it to her own hair dresses which styled and cut it to her face and colouring.
He has even coloured it with a natural hair dye.
But i am sorry to hear your having such a hard time.

im having some frontal hair loss issues as well. Have you tryed Nioxin or Nizoral. Although i havent seen any regrowth (only been using it a week or two) it makes my hair look thicker, especially in front where im thinning the worse. I aslo just got my hair cut and she gave me a big side sweep bang that covers it and you cant even tell (execpt that i have very fine hair). Dont give up. We know exactly what you are going thru. If i may ask, why wont you use rogain?

Default Sorry so long before i answered.

Its kinda like a spray paint! It covers your scalp so it looks like you have more hair than you do. It comes in white, blonde, brown, & black. The brown is great for me. Hands down it has changed the way I feel about myself! You can buy it at salons that carry bumble & bumble, google the bumble & bumble website and see if they have any info on it.

I also tried dermmatch its similar but not as easy to apply but works wonders as a well.

Hope this helps!

I have the same thing. The ONLY area thats thinning is my temples and a little at the hairline. The rest of my hair is pretty thick. Do you have a wide part? I noticed most women with HL have this but mines only at the temples.

Pcos is a pain ... have yu thought of any cosmetic options for hte future
