Default Hair loss with WLS?

I have another post just asking some in general questions about WLS.

One other question I have wondered about-has anyone experienced hair loss with either the lapbank or gastric bypass?

With PCOS, I already have issues with my hair thinning out, so I just wondered if having surgery will make my hair come out? '

I know that everyone is different, but I just wonder if this is something that normally happens.

Yeah. Hair loss happens with both surgeries due to a combo of weight loss & reduced protein intake. It is temporary though & it'll come back.

I had gastric bypass too and yes, my hair got really thin but it came back over time! You'll be so happy with the results of WLS, it'll outweigh the hair thing!

Yep...I had RNY and my hair really went through a thinning phase for about 6 months post-op. But it does come and grow back. I used Nioxin shampoo that you can get from salons for help with thinning hair and that really helped too.
