I have hair on my stomach and don't want to shave it and dont have the money to get it lazer... so anyone have options that are not painful and are affective and dont have to do everyday?
I know that it can be painful, but it is NOT THAT BAD! I swear!!!
I wax my chin and have been waxing my eyebrows for years. I did wax my belly once in high school (hurt some, but worth it).
To me waxing is so much better because it is one quick pain, wear as shaving is daily and plucking is like slow torture!
I use GiGi All Purpuse Honee Microwave Formula and I buy it at Sally Beauty Supply (8.99 by itself or like 12.99 for a kit with strips, skin lotion, slo-gro, etc). I swear by this stuff. I have tried their other varieties (no strip, sugar bare, etc) but none are as thorough and effective as the All Purpose Microwave Formula!
Good luck!!

I recently stumbled across a cheap, effective, virtually painless hair removal product called Magic hair removal powder. You can find it in the shaving section at most drugstores (I get mine at Walgreens) and I pay about $2.00 for a can of the stuff. It's a powder that you mix with water, it safe to use on your hoo-ha, and removes the hair for a few weeks at a time. It was developed for black men to use on their faces as an alternative to shaving. It's missing its calling for womens hair removal. It works much better than Nair for me. The green can works the best with the least amount of irritation.
you mentioned that the Magic works for several weeks... it didn't work that long for me. I was wondering what type the green can was? Extra strength? I have the blue can; that's all they had at Rite-Aid and the first time I used it I was VERY happy. I used it on my side burns first to test it before I tried it anywhere else on my face. I worked for like 2-3 days before I started noticing a visible stubble. I applied it again and my skin reacted to it. I didn't have a reaction the first time and didn't do anything different. I had a red "burn" for a few days and the area was sensitive. I didn't hurt, no pain, just irritated the skin. So now I'm worried about trying again. I've resorted back to the dreaded razor!!! I was soooo hoping this stuff was going to do the trick. Any helpful advice?
hi...i wax..but i have a problem with that..for example my hugely hairy stomach..it looks great when i wax..but bc hair comes in at different times..... there will be hairs sprouting.... but i am not hairy enough to get whole tummy waxed yet....so i still have to resort to shaving stomach after a few days anyways..
if i let tummy hair grow for a month all in..and then wax..the results are better...but i have a VERYYYYY hard time letting my full hair grow in....bc the amount is horrible and i have to hide from boyfriend bc it makes me sad.... oh well xoxo jenn
I pretty much just shave everything. I have sensitive skin so things like Nair don't work (although I am going to look for that powder stuff next time I go to Walgreens) and even waxing makes my skin break out. So shaving is pretty much my only option between laser treatments, and my laser clinic went out of business a few months ago and I haven't found another. So back to shaving it is.

Hi there, im a new soulcyster [I use a hair removal cream called immac , very similiar to nair , a handy tip I learned along the way, is to put vaseline or petroleum jelly on your face first before you apply any cream to your face, it protects my skin from any damage and the cream still works , only for 2/3 days but its better than burn marks.
thank you.....I'm not sure if we have that product in Canada..if we do I've never heard of it!
I was hoping for something that lasted a little longer then 2-3 days....
Thanks for the advice....I appreciate all I can get!

Hi Mschin, I just wanted to let you know that the powder stuff you were asking about is called Magic. My dh's best friend (black guy) uses it on his face instead of shaving. It's supposedly good to prevent the ingrowns that black guys get so easily.
It is similar to Neet or Nair I think???
Anyways, I live in Ontario too -- I'm sure you can get it in T.O.

Just wanted to add something about breaking out after waxing. I use an astringent and a blemish cream (Mary Kay makes a good one--blemish control toner and acne treatment gel) on the face where I waxed and I don't seem to break out anymore from the waxing. Hope that helps!

Tweety, you just reminded me of a great tip that I use for after shaving. I shave my bikini line... I would LOVE to wax it but whenever I've had it done, ALL the hairs come back ingrown!! Even if I use a loofah, alpha hydroxy acids, etc!! Picking them all out with a pin is hell.
Anyways, I used to have problems a day or 2 after shaving with a bunch of red bumps along my bikini line. I've started putting tea tree oil gel from the Body Shop (it's a facial gel) on the shaven area & NO bumps at all!!! I love it!! It's moisturizing & antibacterial too.

I sware by tea tree oil. One drop wiped on a plucked/shaved/creamed area works wonders. A tip I have if any of you tweeze anything, I put 1 drop of tea tree oil on the tweezers before i start tweezing now, it helps stop the spots.
