Default hair removal with "Hair Removal PPx" system?

I am in desperate need of getting laser hair removal but am concerned about trying again. Last time I went for laser hair removal, I ended up with an allergic reaction to the aloe vera used following removal which lead to scarring on my neck/chin area (not bad but noticeable under the razor bumps/stubble problems I have now).

I found a local place that offers the Hair Removal PPx system. Anyone have any luck with this?

I am very fair skinned, with too much thick black, coarse hair on my chin/neck I need to cope with (probably my lips too but that is the least of my concern right now!)

Thanks!!!

Reports seem to indicate that it's very good for treating acne and a help with skin discoloration, but not much use for hair removal.

Thanks JoyBlack. You seem to know your stuff! Do you have any recommendations for which type of laser to look for?

I'm certainly no expert on laser -- it's just that there's plenty of comment on that particular one being of little value for hair removal but very good for treating acne.

I think you're probably better concentrating on getting a good independent practitioner rather than on the type of equipment. Many have more than one type of equipment.

For myself, I shave my moustache and beard and leave the rest. I don't have a problem with accepting and living with my natural hormone balance, but it's such that laser wouldn't give lasting results.
